About Our Company

As always, partners grows with you!

Compass Tax Group is owned by attorney Joseph (Jody) Hickey who has 20+ years of experience. He wanted to form a company where tax resolution could be a more personal experience; he knows there is no “one size fits all” rule when it comes to resolving an IRS or local state tax debt.

Compass Tax Group is a small company where we seek to get to know our clients on a professional and personal level. Our goal is to get the job done in the best manner possible for you and your unique circumstances.

Jody Hickey

Jody hails from Arkansas where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. He practiced law there before moving to Colorado to be closer to the Rocky Mountains.  He has over 20 years of experience in the field of tax resolution. In his spare time, Jody enjoys spending time with his son and his dog as well as playing team sports with his friends.

Chris Tibbals

Chris was born and raised in Texas, but moved to Colorado with his wife in 2008. They love living in Colorado for its abundance of places to rock climb, hike, and run. They have two daughters and two dogs and love to bring them on hikes whenever possible. We proudly welcomed Chris to Compass Tax Group in 2016 with his 15 years of tax resolution experience. As an enrolled agent, he is enthusiastic about helping his clients find the best possible resolution for any type of tax trouble they may be facing.
